The Rabbit Hole Vent Server IP: vent3.gameservers.com Port: 4594 no password required to join it's a 25 slot server so tell your friends they can use it too, especially [TOotH] and [...] all of you are most welcome. If you don't have ventrilo just google "Download Ventrilo" or just goto their page www.ventrilo.com and download the correct version that fits the type of OS you're running (i.e. XP, Vista, Linux etc..). There are many channels for different games and also a [TOotH] meetings channel and the codec that I setup is THE BEST quality so it's amazingly clear compared to teamspeak (eww) and even lan-line telephone. Same rules apply, no racism or sexism. PLEASE use this, don't let it go to waste because it's not free. For my admins I will be giving you the password for admin priv's when you're on the vent server. Also, if you're AFK for longer than 30min you'll automatically be put in the AFK channel which is muted, nor can anyone speak in the AFK channel. I think I've used it twice now while I was in-game... once I had the volume settings so high I could only hear Vent people talking, and the other time I must have turned the volume down too low because I couldn't hear anybody talking. Except Purple, somehow.  |

I think I've used it twice now while I was in-game... once I had the volume settings so high I could only hear Vent people talking, and the other time I must have turned the volume down too low because I couldn't hear anybody talking. Except Purple, somehow. I have a serious problem with Vent's volume not in its mean but in its range. If I turn it down so I can still hear voices but not OVER whatever else I'm doing (TF2, TNG, etc), I still hear Klemma too loud. If I turn the volume higher so that I can hear everyone, even Chris and Decoy, clearly, then I won't be able to hear my game/show (pointing out a Spy, Data trying to understand humor, etc). |

Yeah, I still need to find a good volume balance to have all the sound audible ingame. (TF2 Voice Chat, Vent, TF2 Sound) While I'm at it, does anyone know how to turn down the volume of TF2 sounds but NOT TF2 Voice Chat? I find the relentless noises of miniguns and grenade spam annoying, whilst I still want to hear my teammates.  |

Yes, and I've used it. But I can't normalize everyone's voice; some players are too loud and some are too quiet. If I turn it down to hear the loud ones at a reasonable level, the quiet ones become inaudible. If I turn it up to hear the quiet ones at a reasonable level, the loud ones become painful.

Pelican, you just have to find that perfect, or near perfect, volume "input" and "output" well.. mostly input cuz output is you talking out and input is ppl you can hear. Just tell whoever is loud to lower their output. And being on our new Ventrilo server, I think, is very important because we can always get ahold of players, no matter what they're doing as long as they're at the computer. You can go into the AFK channel if you're afk, or the chill channel if you're busy.... or a busy channel would be nice lol so ppl can still find you or anyone who's busy. Most, by far, agree it's a great tool and so I hope everyone uses the vent server, it's 25 slots so tell your friends about it too, and we need to invite more ppl to the community. thx
